My new computer is running Yosemite 10.10.3.
Icons in a finder window arrange themselves automatically. In order manually arrange the icons, I have to go to the Action Button on top of the Finder window and click Arrange by / none AND I have to go to the View button on the tool bar, click View Options / Sort by / None. Doing either one of these without the other and the icons continue to arrange themselves automatically.
But after clicking both NONE options and manually arranging the icons, if I then click Arrange by / Name, the NONE option is turned off and the icons again automatically arrange.
Is there a way to permanently turn on the Arrange by / NONE option.
Thanks
Bob
