Help creating a new website

Hi Guys

I also need to create basic website but its to showcase my medications and supplements taken over the last few years. Basically im living with a autoimmune disease and seeking help from specialists around the world but everytime i speak to someone new they ask me the same questions so i want to put it all in a website or blog

the thing is i dnt really know the difference. Is it a blog i need or is it a website? Also is all of this not free on wordpress?

A website is just that "a site on the web". A blog is a particular TYPE of website. There are many pieces of software out there that can be used to power a blog. Wordpress is a fairly popular one.

You can quickly create your own blog on Wordpress.com, for example, without paying any money and put your information there. You can also pay a little bit of money to get you own domain name and point it to a Wordpress.com instance or you can get your own private web hosting and run Wordpress on it..

All of this depends on your comfort level with these technologies..

Im not very website savy but i think i should be able to create a website or a blog on wordpress

i like the idea of a blog but i hate the way the date always appears each time you make a post

I dnt really want any dates showing at all. I want to be able to go back and edit things etc etc

taking this into consideration do you still think a blog is better or a website

Can I ask why you want to do this? Putting your medical information online a publicly facing forum doesn't sound like something I would be comfortable with and while you may feel differently, perhaps there's a more private way to make this available to doctors. Are you just looking to have information easily accessible for others to read?

Just use Google Docs. Create a spreadsheet in Google Docs and you can put all of your medical records on there. Make the document public and then copy the link to Bitly or Goo.gl to create a short version of the address (so you can easily share it.

Then you can give whoever you want the new short address that will redirect them to your spreadsheet with the info. What's good about this method is its super easy to update (just update the spreadsheet), and no coding or web dev knowledge needed.

I think if you want to learn to make a website and you have no knowledge of web development. You have to learn how to code a website. On the other hand if you just want to run a website there are a number of free website creating websites available on Internet. Search and create for free.

Your best bet is wordpress. Although it's not strictly WYSIWYG it's probably the most intuitive platform out there. You'll have your site up in an evening.

Or you can use blogspot, which is pretty simple.

A simple wordpress blog would be more than good enough for you,.
