Apps not updating

2007 mac mini core2duo, snow lepord, 1 gig mem
On April 21st both Numbers and Pages had an update. However they will not update. I get a message that 2 apps failed to download and can not be installed whenever I try to update them. This has also made them unusable. Any ideas?
Running an IPad mini- model MD528LL/A with IOS 8.3

2017 27" iMac, 10.5" iPad Pro, iPhone 8, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 Mini, Numerous iPods, Monterey
Download the updates first to your Mac Mini and then attach the iPad Mini to your Mac and sync the updated apps. I do this all the time as it's faster and gives you a choice of what you wish to sync or not to sync to your iOS devices.
