USB stick not detected.

Only 2 of my USB memory sticks are not detected or not visible on desktop when I mount them, please help. I use MacBook Pro OS X Version 10.9.5.

They may be damaged.
Have you tried them on any other computer?

No I haven't yet died to open them on another computer. I will do so and thereafter give feedback.

Yes, certainly try the flash drives in another USB port on the laptop in question and also on another computer, if available. Also, do you properly dismount your flash drives, i.e. if not and if the drive is still in use by the computer (e.g. being written to), then damage can occur and make the device 'unreadable' - finally, you might want to give us the brand/model of your USB drives - some are just better than others. This posting is very similar to one from last week. What I suggested then was to connect your USB directly into another port (as Dave has said) - not via a hub if you have one. Then open Disk Utilities (found in Applications > Utilities) and see if it is listed on the left. Please report back.
