On saving my file in Quark I received a message saying "backup failed". I reinstated my Autosave requirements in Quark Preferences but backup still fails. Any ideas why?

Well what computer, what operating system and what version of Quark for starters?

When you updated to OS X.5.8, did you by chance run the Combo Updater which seems to overcome many problems?

Also have a read of this link about checking Quark's Preference Files and ensuring Auto Save has been activated:-

I have repeatedly activated Autosave to try and solve this, but I shall investigate Combo Updater, which I was unaware of.
Thanks

If no joy maybe the next step is Planet Quark's forums. Not widely used by the average Mac owner, and since leaving publishing not up to date as it were.
