First problem i'm having, when I try to partition the disk in disk utility it will not let me choose the size of the new partition I am only allowed to split the disk in half.

2nd problem is when i goto install windows i'm getting an error about windows cannot install on this disk it is not gpt (or is I forgot the message).

So a quick search lead me to source force GPF fdisk utility. I ran it and durring the process it keeps saying the partitions are overlapping. Please someone help me before my macbook takes a swim in my pool.

When you are creating a Bootcamp partition you don't use Disk Utility. You must use Boot Camp Assistant. It's found in Applications/Utilities folder. I believe there is a help file for the assistant. Really helpful info there.

In fact print out the guidelines and study them first. Do away with the partition you first made, and then do it from within BootCamp Assistant.
