Hi, I am having an issue with the audio output of my macbook pro retina (2013) The moment I plugin headphones or any other audio jack, the sound immediately disconnects and the system preference display the error "the selected device has no output controls"

It is impossible to modify the sound settings once a jack is plugged in. The Audio/MIDI configuration menu also cuts the sound to zero the moment it recognizes the jack is being plugged in. No red light can be seen from the audio/headphone port. Lastly, I reset the PRAM which did not help

Kindly let me know if it might be a hardware issue or if it'd be possible to re-enable the sound by reconfiguring sound settings etc. Thanks a lot in advance!
