Hello all,
I just bought a new external hard drive that I will have to format for my MacBook Air. Does anyone know how or if it is possible to make it so that the external drive doesn't automatically my MBA's drive every time I plug it in, but rather serves as a storage space to which I can offload the data that is currently on my MBA's drive without mirroring it. Will an MBA automatically run Time Machine backup every time I plug the external drive in, or is there a way to turn it off so that I can dump files onto the external and pull them back onto the MBA's drive as needed?
Sorry if that's a bit of a silly question; I'm not much of a computer person and just want this process to go smoothly.
