Working with Terminal

Hi all, newby at use of terminal. Want to switch sites that screen shots are saved to. Found a set of commands to use in Terminal. When I open Terminal, there is already some verbiage there, and I can't separate lines of commands, so it is all bunched together and obviously doesn't work. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Did you mean "sites" or did you mean "format?" Is there some particular reason you believe that only using the Terminal will do what you want? A quick web search on "change format of screenshots mac OS X" returns a number of terminal-free ways to do it. The constantly-recommended system utility OnyX can do it (under the "Parameters" tab), as an example.

Again, just after doing a quick Google search, this solution appeared to work and be noted several times. Did not know about other means than terminal to accomplish task at hand. Also, the list of commands to put in terminal were spelled out, so you just needed to copy and paste. Will give OnyX a try (only don't know what it is yet). Thanks again.

There are several apps that will do this. Onyx, TinkerTool, among others.
Terminal is not something you just step into and play with. It can be dangerous to your system if you don't know what you're doing.

If there are multiple commands, you either need to input them individually or separate them with a semicolon. Just FYI for the future.
