I downloaded the newest edition of the Adobe Flash Player. Then, I double clicked on the download. A new window popped up and I tried in vain to click on the "grayed" over word INSTALL. The double clicking did nothing. So, how do I install a downloaded Adobe Flash Player/

Well what operating system asnd what Mac will help for syarters.

if this is a late model, go into System Preferences and on the bottom line Flash Player should appear. Click to open and hit the check for latest version button and you should then be updated to version 17.0.0.134. Ignore installing NPAPPI.

Or perhaps you mean Gatekeeper will not let it open with a message about being from an unidentified installer? If so right click and select open.

I suspect the OP forgot to check the little box in the installer's window that says "I have read and agreed to the terms & conditions," and that is why the install button is greyed out.

Installing Adobe Flash Player

You were right, Chas_M. I checked the little box and I was able to install the Adobe Flash Player. Thanks!
