MacBook Air Hard Drive Question

I have a 2013 MB Air, and I have almost a full hard drive. I checked, and it looks like I have 25 GB of apps and 14 GB of 'other' files taking up storage space. However, I don't have many more apps than those that came installed with the computer (I put in Chrome and Skype, but that's really it), and I don't have any files that could be classified as 'other'- just music and some other audio files. Does anyone know if this might be something I'm overlooking, or at least how I can verify which files are taking up which type of storage space?

First I wanted to mentioned a "terminology thing". This MacBook Air doesn't have a hard drive…it has "flash storage". :)

As far as what is the "Other" on the flash storage…here's an explanation:

You also mentioned that this MacBook Air's storage was almost full. You didn't tell us what almost full is (we don't know how much total storage there is…or how much free space there is).
