dock connector or no? iPod4th gen. woes

How hard is it to know when the dock connector is bad? I have an ipod that iTunes wont recognize and the LCD will not come on after being replaced. It also has a new battery.

Don't know? You would need to test the dock connector w/ another device and or another dock station w/ the device in question - is this possible?

Your should also supply information on your iPod model and more thorough details on your screen & battery replacements - basically, more information is needed. Dave :)
