Hi All,
My current notebook is a MacBook Pro 15" from 2007 which is still running reasonably well for its age (only upgraded RAM from 2GB to 5GB a few years ago and got battery replaced in 2010 or so)
I don't use it very much on a day-to-day basis since both my wife and I have personal ipads that we use to browse the web.
Where I live (Germany) there are a few deals at the moment on Apple Notebooks, so I've been considering to replace the good old MBP.
As mentioned I am a very light user these days, so I'd probably only need it to store/organize music, pictures (download them from camera) and to write letters or work on a spreadsheet every now and then. I rarely ever take the notebook on trips or outside the house.
That's why I'd not like to spend too much money on the new one. For around a 1000 euros I could buy one the following
- 13" MacBook Pro (the basic, not retina display) with 8 GB RAM and 256 SSD, Intel HD Graphics 4000
- 13" MacBook Air with 8GB RAM and 128 SSD, Intel HD Graphics 5000
Which one would you get?
I have noted the following pros/cons:
MB Air: + Less weight, + slightly better screen resolution, - smaller hard drive
MB Pro: the opposite
After this purchase I would consider buying a Time Capsule, so that could solve the smaller HD on the MB Air?
Which one would you pick if you were me?
Many thanks in advance,
Claus
