play WMV on Macs?

I am on a Intel iMac and I was wondering if there was a program out there that lets you play like video files encoded in .wmv? I don't think there is one out there but maybe I am wrong.

it's awesome and will play next to any file...

You could also try Flip4Mac WMV, which lets you run almost, if not all the files Windows Media Player can run (including streamed files on the 'net) on Quicktime.

Does VLC play Xvid also? or do you need a codec first?

i believe it does....i havent found a file that vlc cant play

yeah basically if it's a video file vlc will play it.

yeah, VLC is an amazing bit of software.

VLC doesn't play most wmv files... at least the current nightly build for intel doesn't.

then flip4mac is good

flip4mac doesn't have an intel release yet either...
