I know….go ahead and laugh…We use AOL and at the end of some stories there are comment buttons that allow you to read stupid comments. It's great entertainment. For some time now the buttons do not work. I checked at the Apple store and their suggestion was to reset Safari…did that, no joy. It does work if I use Google Chrome, but would rather stick with something familiar. Any suggestions?

What extensions are you running in Safari?
AdBlock? Ghostery? Anything?

I just looked a little while ago and I do remember Adblock, and one other, but I haven't added anything in a very long time. Itwascworking fine up until a couple weeks ago. I'll check on it.

In Preferences, under the Security tab. Check the "Enable Javascript" button.

2 things:
1. Do they work anywhere else? Some NON AOL site?
2. There's a whole wide world out there beyond AOL. Stick your toe in and check the waters. :)

For what it is worth, using AdBlockPlus often see comments unavailable as you have AdBlock enabled message. Not that I read the comments as they invite all sorts of odd bods to post.

I find some sites use “Gigya Socialize” which is blocked by Ghostery, and seems to be used for comments. I sometimes un-block it if I want a laugh.

Well…nothing has changed. Can Safari be downloaded and overwrite the current version?

No (sort of). Have you tried clicking the AdBlock icon and setting "Disable on this page" ?

I'll try that...although I've had Adblock for several years. The current problem is pretty recent.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Web sites change, code changes. They might have coded something that triggers AdBlock.
I've had it happen to me.

Google chrome woks fine, as does Windows Explorer in Parallels. Not trying to be arguementitive,,,just looking for answers.

Something that just came to mind...there are a couple of sites. My storage unit site and Comcast, that will not let me complete payments online.

I will disable Adblock and see if that cures it.

Well….do I feel foolish. I disabled Adblock and everything seems to work fine. I'll be curious to see if that solves my online bill payments on a couple of sites. I wonder why after all this time, Adblock decided to go sideways. I wonder if Adblock + is any better.

Thanks agin for everyones help….now I can go back to reading id10t comments.
