10.4.1 .. I downloaded a jpg from an SD card to the desktop. Tried to throw it away and I got a mssg that it is being used by the operating system..managed to get it into the trash and emptied...but today I see it is back on the desktop with the same error mssg when I try to trash it. Ran applejack twice...no help.

Do a Get Info in the jpg file and see what it says.

Is it locked? Is it a real file or an alias? etc.

Are any applications open that might be using the file?

...jpg in system

thanks ..the error message says the system is using the file...but this morning the jpg file is gone...I had to do a force quit last night and apparently third time is a charm...it probably will be back though : )

I'm new here so I'm not sure if I'm even posting correctly, since the subject line on a reply was blank...if wrong excuse please.
