I added a Samsung 250G drive to my 3T equipped iMac. I transferred my OSX to the SSD it ran fine for 8 mos then it started freezing up with the spinning wheel, necessitating me to reboot via the power button. Not sure what it means but this SSD has no TRIM support, The OS is the only thing on the drive, with everything else on the 3T HDD.

Very hard to say as you do not supply computer or operating system details.

But SSD's die same as platter drives, and as often. Had G.Skill, kingston and Toshiba SSDs die, some DOA in box when new. Run Recovery Mode and Repair Disk.

Assume '8 mos' means 8 months? Have to you booted into Recovery Mode and run Repair Disk? It helps beacuse earlier operating systems may have a DVD to boot from, and they do not have Recovery.
