Hi,

i'm having problems with my Mac Pro's main drive and the Disk Utility says the drive needs to be replaced. The actual drive is a ST2000DM001-1CH164 (2TB)

The question is is I can replace it with an equivalent (or faster) 4 TB drive and how can I transfer the files so it will start up as if nothing would have happened.

Thanks in advance

+1,000 for Carbon Copy Cloner.

And use it ASAP to backup that failing drive if a current backup doesn't exist.

And if it fails, DiskWarrior may help or be needed to get the directory back together. Unfortunately they don't provide a download nor a trial.
