My email was possibly hacked. How can I change my email password but not change my address for incoming messages.

Who is your email provider? If a webmail provider, change your password there. If your ISP, change your password with whatever interface they provide. This doesn't require you to actually change he email address itself..

It is Gmail and I know how to change the password in settings. I just wanted to make sure I can keep my address for incoming. Thank you, that was very helpful.

Yes you can keep the same address. Also while you are at it, enable two-factor authentication in Gmail if you haven't already..
