iphone 4s issues

My wifi button in settings will not turn on. I've done everything that people have told me to do, but not resolving the issue. Is there something I'm not doing? I can't do anymore updates because I can't turn on the wifi. I need some direction. Thanks, lhordichok

I found some links that talk about what to try but without knowing knowing what version of iOS your iphone is running it is hard to be specific.
