I've lost the disk to restore my Mac mini "Core 2 Duo" 2.0 (Early 2009) 2gb ram running OS X 10.6.8 and I'm wanting to sell it wiped out. I do have a pre-configured OSX 10.10 Yosemite bootable 16GB Flashdrive for a Core 2 Dual machine produced towards the end or after 2008. Can I erase and use the Flash drive to reinstall? Thanks

You can do that, however, when someone buys the machine they will have to wipe it and use their personal Apple ID to re-install Yosemite or whichever version of OS X they wish. Why don't you order a Snow Leopard DVD from Apple since it's only $19.95 and include it with the sale? You can also use it to wipe the machine and install.

Go with chscag's suggestion. All sorts of trouble selling a machine with Yosemite installed when the operating system always belongs to your Apple ID which means no updates etc. unless you are prepared to share your Apple ID and password which you must never do.

Also the OS X.6.3 disc from Apple will be a top selling point when advertised.
