Safari (OS X Yosemite) Pop-up Problem

Hello,
I'm using a 2014 MBP Retina on OS X Yosemite 10.10.1.

I'm a huge idiot and I downloaded something that I shouldn't have - I clicked on a link that told me I had some sort of malware on my Mac and it installed a "fix". Well, now every time I open a tab on safari, it goes to search-quick.com; I can then navigate from this page, but it's defaulted into Safari. Pop-ups also happen very frequently, even though my pop-up blocker is running. I've cleared my search history, preferences etc. and I ran ClamXav. It said I had a internet downloaded infected file, so I cleared it from my computer. I also cleared the download folder from the file that was originally downloaded.

That being said, nothing I've tried has worked. Any ideas on how to solve this?

Download, install and run Adware Medic. Reboot for good measure. That should clear the problem. If it doesn't try the following:

1. Disconnect your computer from the internet (wireless and ethernet).
2. Clear the browser cache.Do not connect to the internet yet.
3. Quit the browser.
4. Reconnect the computer to the internet and see if the problem persists.

it's a extension you need to click safari preferences then select extensions and select the extension then remove by clicking the minus key.

If not then it isn't malware it's just a site changing spoofer all you have to do is go into safari preferences then select general then type in your own home page and apply then close out all windows and safari and try again.

When back to normal add AdblockPlus and Ghostery to your extensions.
