Mouse in browsers down...

I am running intel mac os x 10.4 and i use safari or firefox, and off and on my mouse just freaks out and blinks and scrolls down to page and when i try to scroll up it just go back down. Also when i type it keeps spacing like i am holding space bar. I know its not my ports or mouse caz i switched both of them anyone know wats wrong? thanks

are you using the mouse on a wood grain desk?

im using it on a mouse pad on a woodgrain desk.

and it only does this in internet browsers... specific sites.. or all sites.. all the time or only some times.. did you try opera?

just trying to get some more specifics to diagnose the problem more accurately.

it does it most times i go on and it does it on all sites and only does it in the browsers safari,firefox, havent tried opera. and when i click the menu at top when in a browser i have to hold down mouse to select something if i dont it just closes file,edit,view etc watever menu im in. thanks
