Key chain access

So, keychain access is not working with yosemite. I've researched about this, but no one seems to have the same problem I have. I need to get all my passwords off of keychain to a safe place, where I can see them.

1. Keychain access works exactly the same way it has always worked in Yosemite. This is why you can't find anyone else with the problem -- the problem is local to you.

2. You can see them ... in keychain access. However, if you prefer, utilities like 1Password can import your keychain.

3. There isn't a safer place for your keychain than Keychain Access. It's encrypted by default.

Well let me expand... When I attempt to start it it immediately quits, and then I am informed that it is out of date. I need to get certain passwords in order to reinstall Yosemite cleanly.
