euro sign on bluetooth keyboard - Achilles heel?

I've paired my Apple bluetooth from my new iMac with my Kindle HDX for mobility purposes, but cannot access the euro sign. I've tried Opt 2/Opt/Shift 2 and other combinations to no effect. Can you please help?

I hit OPT+SHIFT+2 and I get the Euro sign: €..

This is on my Macbook Pro with the US keyboard BTW..

Hello Martin - welcome to the forum! :) Are you sure that the Kindle HDX KB is compatible w/ OS X? I use the Apple BT KB w/ my iMac and the combination SHIFT-OPT-2 produces the € sign (also works on my MBPro). Dave
