how do I put mkv & avi into iPhone?

Hey y'all!

This is my first and I'm cutting the story short...because I'm desperate.

Here's the deal– I'm leaving for a business trip to Egypt on Saturday and I'm planning on watching a few movies on my iPhone during the flight.

The problem is that the movies I want to put on my iPhone are in MKV and AVI format.
I can't seem to put them on my iPhone or iPad because iTunes doesn't allow me to sync them.
I generally tried to avoid iTunes in all cases...it's too clumsy.

My question... Does the iOS native videos app able to read MKV or AVI files? If so, how can I put them on my iPhone?

Use MPEGStreamclip to convert the avi files to mpeg4:
