Locked out of apple account

Hi novice at all this Apple stuff and I have managed to lock myself out of my account, password won't work, can anyone help me with resetting the password please

HI there you could try this
press r on start up for recovery, the page comes up with utilities and tools top left.
Choose password reset.
Otherwise use a bootable DVD pressing the C key on startup to get to same area.
Hope this helps you..
