my macbook pro battery runs down very quickly since updating to Yosemite (and the newest Yosemite update). I have reset the SMU and the PRAM. I have an app that shows my battery health and it says it's good - however, a full charge even when I was using Photoshop etc would last all day - now I find myself charging the battery twice a day. Also, my computer is running really hot...guess that's another discussion issue. Any suggestions?

Not necessary to double post (battery & running hot mentioned in both threads). Threads merged.

Thanks,

How long since the upgrade? Spotlight will reindex the drives and that will drive the CPU and HD hard, creating heat and using battery.

Jake, quite a while ago - as in 2 or 3 weeks at least -- I think I waited about 2 weeks after 10.10.1 came out before I implemented it.
