Macbook is slow and non responsive

Hi all,

my macbook has become very slow. I have read what i can do but it is non responsive to open any programs. All i get is the spinning color ball on start up. I realise that i have only 3gb left which might be the issue. I cant load preferences and a few of the shortcuts havent helped.

Please assist?

Yes that is VERY likely the issue. You NEED to free up more space. We usually recommend (at a minimum) 20% free space on an HD.
