Not bad.
Trying to copy 31gb of Gopro footage to my external hard drive.

I am using Tuxura so I can use a NTSF formated drive on a mac.

I am getting this message.

How can I get round this???

I don't have enough space on my mac to drop there.

It's never done this before. This is ridiculous now.

I am backing up as my HD is on its way out, I can not keep throwing files away due to this error message.

There must be a simple solution as this has never happened.

What has changed here to make it suddenly happen all the time?

I have a feeling since the drive you are copying from is dying, it's corrupting some files like your 31GB file. That is my guess.

I really wish you could just format that 500gb external in Apples format and use Time Machine for the entire backup. No dragging, it does it all for you.

What do I do with the data on the external currently??

When you say corrupting, do you mean it is slowly screwing up all my data??

Way... way too many specs to list.
-36 translates to ioErr. This is indeed exactly what it sounds like, an I/O Error. The drive is dying, the data is 100% suspect at this point. I would do a disk to disk copy, anything that fails to copy is gone. Got any backups?
