Never purchased because was told virus protection wasn't needed. Keep getting alerts that my system has a virus and not sure if it is a scam or not. Any one help please????? One is MacKeeper and the other Sentinel pro! When I go to a website, I get directed to a virus protection website. I did change operating systems to 10.10.1 OS X Yosemite to divert the attacks Thanks in advance for your help!

Sounds like you're simply running into either popups (which can be mitigated by using a popup and ad blocker with your browser of choice) or some malware. Give Adware Medic a run and let that clean up any lingering adware on your Mac.
