Help reverting to Mavericks please?

Tried to get used to Yosemite's neon colors and miniscule, light fonts, but I'm giving up. Can anyone explain how to revert to Mavericks please?

Clone back from the backup you made before installing Yosemite? You did make a backup, didn't you?

Like MightyGem said, a Time Machine backup you made before Yosemite would be a possibility. Currently, there is no way of reverting to Mavericks by a "downgrade".

I've got everything backed up on external hard drive and flash drives, just in case. I know how to "install" Mavericks onto a USB, but not sure how to proceed from there. Everything I've read so far says you can't restore from Time Machine, and frankly, I don't remember the date I installed Yosemite, so I'm not sure if all that is on my Time Machine is Mavericks, but probably not, as I back up very frequently.

If you know how to make a Mavericks USB and have a backup of your data, try the following:
1. Backup anything you might have missed.
2. Create the Mavericks USB drive.
3. Boot from the Mavericks USB you created (Holding town Option key I think)
4. Erase the drive then reload Mavericks.

After that run software update to get Mavericks current and reinstall any apps.

Thanks Slydude! I gotcha until step 4 - erase which drive? If I boot up Mavericks, don't I get Mavericks without erasing Yosemite?

Erase the main drive that has Yosemite on it, not the USB drive. If you don't do that the installer won't run ppoperly. In essence it won't let you install a version of 10.9 on the drive because a newer version (10.10) is already there.

You can later run Migration Assistant once in Mavericks and point it to the Time Machine drive and it will migrate all your stuff back.
