what OS is running

Go to the top menu bar and click on the Apple and go down to About This Mac. It should tell you which system you are using.

True. But that doesn't help the OP because the question was about a system that hasn't benn purchased/delivered yet.

Well, he seems not to be certain what system he does have now, so this is one way to make sure.

Hi, does anybody know if i was to buy an IMac 21.5 entry level computer that was released 20th April 2014, would i be able to download Yosemite and use it as the operating system or would i run into problems, ive seen this question asked in other forums but the answer wasn't explained very clearly. Thanks.

This, from the first post, suggests the machine hadn't been purchased at the time the thread was started.
