Hi

I have a damaged iPad 2. The digitiser had been terribly smashed. I have removed all of the smashed glass and removed the screen but I have noticed a small ribbon cable that looks like it should be connected somewhere. It's position is at the rear of the audio mute switch.

Can anyone identify it please.

You might want to go to www.ifixit.com and see if you can find the take apart instructions for an iPad 2. That may or may not show you where the connector goes.

Thanks Tom, I didn't even notice it was under mod.

Solved

I have found out that this ribbon cable is part of the On/Off, Volume rocker and Audio mute system and is torn so a new part has been ordered.
