i get "warnings" about some law, like a copyright that i have violated,and must send $300 or maybe $500 to pay my fine if i don't, they will hand me over to the authorities to serve a 6 month jail term. last time this happened i got a quick easy solution- no new app just do something as easy as a keystroke to make it go away. i know for sure this is a very common experience, so if anyone knows how to get rid of this thing please tell me.

if nobody knows this, then can somebody suggest an app that will 1) make it disappear and
2) protect against repetitions of this intrusion. thanks.

Try quoting the browser and see if the window reappears when you launch the browser. If the window reappears try the following:

!. Quit the browser you are using.
2. Disconnect your computer from the internet temporarily. Turn off wi-fi if it is on and disconnect the ethernet cable if you are doing that.
3. Open the browser and close whatever window or tab that produced that message. You should now be able to quit the browser, reconnect to the internet and relaunch.

If this problem persists try downloading Adware Medic and running that to see if you have picked up any malware. Do not get it from CNET etc. go directly to adwaremedic.com

and then quit going to the web sites that have those
