Brand New MacBook Pro has internet speeds at 30% of the old MacBook Pro. Help?

Hi fellow Mac lovers. Was hoping you could help me out with this strange issue.. So today for Christmas I got my mum a new MBP, and for some reason, on the new machine, the internet is much, MUCH slower, so much so that it's not even possible to stream music via airplay. Specs and speedtest results of both machines below..

Does anyone have ANY idea why this is happening? Have the wifi protocols or something changed for new MBPs? It's the exact same wireless network, and the machines have been placed next to each other - so I really don't understand what the problem could be.

The other possible issue is the DNS server setting. The DNS supplied by your ISP may not be the same on the new computer. You can compare if you like.
