I have a 13" old white MacBook2,1 running SnowLeopard. I would like to upgrade the OS, but it won't let me install Yosemite and I can't find places to download Mavericks, etc. How can I update the OS to at least Mavericks so I can run other programs like Parellels, etc.

Your MB which was released way back in '06 can only run up to Lion OS X.7 so no go there alas.

Lion is available from Apple Online for $20 but with the age of your machine and very limited memory, 3GB max, suggest you stay where you are and save your pennies.

That's a nearly nine-year-old computer. It's time for a new(er) one, simply put. There's absolutely no point in spending more than the $20 for the Snow Leopard DVD on that relic.
