can't install flash adobe

i have an iMac os x 10.9.5. i can't install adobe. i click on install now, it says initializing and then goes to a grey screen with no download activity. my firewall is on but it allows adobe and my plug ins allow it as well. help!

Hello Rumps.. - welcome to the forum! Just a few questions: 1) Do you have Adobe Flash already installed on Mavericks and are you trying to update a version; and 2) How are you trying to update, i.e. from what website?

I just updated my Flash via 'System Preferences' (a Flash icon is present @ the bottom of the opening dialog box - now on Yosemite but same on Mavericks) - and any other issues w/ your computer, browser and the internet? Dave
