Hey Gang,

When I click Keychain it starts to open then immediately closes and I get a message box titled "Keychain Access cannot be opened because of a problem." This didn't happen before I upgraded to Yosemite (10.10.1). The upper part of Details reads:

Process: Keychain Access [324]
Path: /Applications/Keychain Access.app/Contents/MacOS/Keychain Access
Identifier: com.apple.keychainaccess
Version: ???
Build Info: KeychainAccess-550040000~4
Code Type: X86-64 (Native)
Parent Process: ??? [1]
Responsible: Keychain Access [324]
User ID: 501
Date/Time: 2014-12-14 15:02:13.628 -0500
OS Version: Mac OS X 10.10.1 (14B25)
Report Version: 11
Anonymous UUID: 7D91A58A-167A-CA05-3331-0B233E5639D7
Time Awake Since Boot: 210 seconds
Crashed Thread: 0
Exception Type: EXC_BREAKPOINT (SIGTRAP)
Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000

Right clicking the Keychain icon shows that it's version 9.0.
I ran Repair Disk Permissions, then rebooted. That didn't help. I was also advised to go into Library and delete the file com.apple.keychain, then reboot and empty trash, then try to again. That didn't work.

Is it tough to uninstall then reinstall Keychain?

Closer than you think.

Try to rename ~/Library/Keychains/login.keychain then open Keychain Access. This will create a new blank keychain. If Keychain Access opens then your keychain is corrupted. If it doesn't then there is some other problem. If you are using keychain in iCloud I would turn that off to troubleshoot.

In Finder I went to Library>Keychains then clicked on System.keychain and for a minute I thought it was my old, normal keychain then I realized it doesn't display passwords.

Not sure what you mean by "Try to rename ~/Library/Keychains/login.keychain then open Keychain Access"

UPDATE: Okay, so if I go through Finder as described above and double click an individual item in the list, it will show me the password. And the Keychain icon stays open in the dock the whole time. But if I click on Keychain in the Apps folder it opens then closes.
