Installing OS on a new SSD with Yosemite

Hello,

I purchased a SSD from crucial (512gig) and installed it on my macbook pro and loaded Yosemite as the OS.

I am now trying to do the same for a black macbook (mid-2007) with a 128 gig SSD from crucial, but I am not able to. I have partitioned the drive correctly and I know this third-party drive is compatible with yosemite, but I keep getting this sign (please look at the pictures) after I hold down the option key to load yosemite.

Does anyone know what the problem might be? rsz_img_2173.jpg

An '07 MacBook is not compatible with Yosemite - I believe the max OS X version for that model is Lion.

Yep. You would need at least a late 2008 aluminum MacBook to be able to run Yosemite. Your black MacBook can run Lion, nothing after that.

I went ahead and made a lion boot disk and it worked!
