ugh this sucks. I'm thinking it's an overheating issue. My MacBook does get super hot sometimes. While using it tonight I got a black screen out of nowhere. Turned it off, and now I get a black screen when turning it on. No chime.

Wondering what the issue is.

Also I just installed yomesite last night... Wondering if my system couldn't handle it...

So glad I backed up my system 4 days ago...

No POST chime is a sign of a serious hardware problem. You didn't provide us any info about your MacBook but if it's an older model, I would seriously consider buying something newer or a new machine.

What are you looking for exactly? Anyone know of a good Black Friday deal for a MacBook Pro?

Check around. Best Buy was advertising price reductions on some of their Apple stock. You'll need to visit the stores though as they don't sell them on line.

I see best buy will have a 13.3" MacBook Pro for 1349. Wondering if that's a good deal for the specs. Need something that will run Adobe programs.

Good news. Left it off for about 5 hours and it works again.

Wondering if I should downgrade back to OS X Lion, or even Mavericks if possible.

Also I set up a Genius Bar appointment for Saturday. Hopefully they can figure out the issue.

So it turns out the logic board was bad. Getting that replaced for free. I have 26 days left On my warranty so I'm a little lucky....

Great to hear the news! Sounds like you had a MBP with the Nvidia video that had issues. Glad you are getting it done for free!

So is this a common problem for my model? Seems like a lot of people are having issues with their display.
