iPhoto changed when I upload photos

I have been uploading iPhoto pictures for several years now. Last week, something changed when I turned on my laptop and it told me my iPhoto had inconsistencies and to repair it. I did and the photos are there. However when I upload to Facebook or email now, the format has changed and it's very complicated. I can upload a screenshot of what I'm seeing now. but not sure where to do that.
