Youtube / Safari Upgrade

I opened Youtube and got a message that I had to upgrade my browser in order to use Youtube. I tried Youtube again and it opened but I wonder why the original message.
My software is up to date but I'm not concerned that Youtube will no longer work with older versions - 10.6 with Safari 5.1.10 (6534.59.10)?

Does that message mean that soon I won't be able to use Youtube ???

The message was probably an attempt to install malware on your Mac. I would ignore it.
