Everyone to there own Alice, and in no way am I making fun of you, but they had a whole story on Selfie Sticks on Australia,s version of Good Morning America, and I had a good laugh. If you do a eBay search, there are 000's log listings for them as little as $12

I have seen people using them, but I personally would just ask someone nearby to take the picture. OTOH, if there isn't anyone you trust nearby, perhaps they're not a silly-looking as they might at first seem.
