A few days ago I was rebooting it and it froze in the middle of booting , so I had little choice but to hard press the button. When it restarted It had the blinking question mark folder. So I assumed I blew my hard drive. Since I was thinking about upgrading anyway, I went ahead and got another one. Went through the process of doing that and it's not reading the new one either.

What else could be wrong?

It's possible that your SATA cable which connects the hard drive to the logic board is defective. Try a new one. If that doesn't work, post back. The cable is available from the ifixit site or powerbookmedic site. You can also find them on eBay.
