Reset to Factory. Best way to clear MacBook Air with clean OS to sell.

I am needing to put a fresh operating system on my Macbook Air and remove all other files. I tried disc utility, but it wouldn't let me erase and start again. Any help is appreciated.

Here are Apple's directions for a clean install The directions are essentially the same for Lion (10.7) - Yosemite (10.10). If you are using Snow Leopard 10.6 you can use the disc to reinstall.

Make sure you have a backup of your data.
