Adobe Acrobat Pro XI hangs terribly in MacBook Pro when selecting text or zooming. I get the spinning beach ball for 5 seconds. It makes the program virtually unusable.
I reinstalled Adobe Acrobat Pro XI, to no avail.

By contrast, Adobe Acrobat Pro XI works great on my six year old Mac Pro, with no issues.

Is it my graphics card? Is it a RAM issue?

I have no idea and would love some help on this matter.

My Adobe Acrobat XI is up to date: 11.0.09.
Architecture: i386
Build: 11.0.9.29

Have been plagued by the same issue on both my new late-2013 MacBook Pro 13" and previously on my mid-2009 MBP. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Acrobat on my old machine with no luck.

Had similar beach ball issues with Microsoft Word after setting up the new machine. Those appear to have been resolved by removing duplicate or damaged fonts (identified via Font Book). But I'm still getting the long-pause beach ball in Acrobat when selecting text or graphics.

Let me know if you get anywhere with Acrobat Pro. I have been unable to fix the issue. It's persisted through several updates so I'm wondering if it has something to do with my computer.
