Transferring imported iPad photos

Is transfer of photos from iPad to iMac limited to camera roll photos or can photos on iPad imported from third source, e.g.. camera card, be transferred to iMac?

You can import photos directly from your camera's SD card directly to iPhoto on your Mac. Of course you'll have to use a USB SD adapter if your Mac does not have a SD card slot.

And yes, photos from a third source on your iPad can be imported to iPhoto on your Mac. They don't have to be on the camera roll.
