Working fine here on my iPad 3. The first time you turn on or boot your iPad with 8.1 or any upgrade it's going to take a bit longer. But from then on, it should boot and startup normally. Which model iPad do you have?

iPad & 8.1

Hi chscag,

Now you're getting technical on me!! I know we've had the iPad for a couple of years now and the Model No. (from the "Settings" menu) is: MC980B/A - does that mean anything to you 'cause it sure as **** doesn't to me!! It's possibly an iPad 2 but I wouldn't stake my life on that!

If you do have an iPad 2 (according to the model number) it is going to run a bit slower in iOS 8 than it did in iOS 7. Some folks have complained same as you while other have not. If your iPad is getting short on flash drive space, that will also slow it down. Unfortunately, iOS 8 takes up quite a bit more space on the iPad than iOS 7 did.
