Operating system out of date error, but system IS "in date"

Just upgraded to 10.10 Yosemite. Tried updating my AutoCad 2013 software and I'm getting an error stating that I must have 10.6.4 or later.

What's up with this?!?

Two questions:

1. What OS version did you upgrade from?
2. Are you sure Autocad 2013 is compatible with Yosemite?

Email the developers and ask when an update will be released compatible with Yosemite. They have only had six months to get ready.

I'm guessing that this might be a case of "Windows 9x" checking. In layman's terms, your app is checking the version number of your OS but it's only checking the first digit after the "10." (much like a lot of Windows apps, which, when checking to see if you were running Windows 95 or 98, only checked to see if you were running "Windows 9"). I'm guessing that it reads 10.10 and 10.1 which appears older than 10.6. Check to see if they have an updated version available for you.

That was exactly it.
I found a way to "fake" the OS version:
Tutorial: Change the OS X Version by modifying systemversion.plist

Changed it to 10.90, and the program installed.

Did you read through all the comments about what can happen to your system by using this hack? You may have installed Autocad 2013 OK, but what other apps have you broken in the process? You really should contact Autocad support and let them solve it rather than using a hack.
